Employment & Volunteering

Working for St. Josephs

Compassionate care underpins our work and service at St Josephs Nuring Home. Even though not all of us are directly employed to care for residents, we all have an important role in ensuring that all people in our service receive our very best care and strive to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to care across the organisation.

We strive to make our workplaces welcoming, affirming and enabling.

What we look for in our staff

St. Josephs seeks employees who are passionate about the delivery of high-quality care to  residents, whilst working within the framework of our Mission and Values by treating everyone with Compassion, Respect and Dignity. We believe that this can be achieved  through behaviours that are:

  • – Truthful, passionate and demonstrate honesty
  • – Committed to the expectations of the organisation
  • – Accountable and responsible.

We believe our staff are entitled to work in a safe and harmonious environment where everyone is treated equally with dignity and respect.

We welcome employment applications from people who may share St Josephs Missions and Values and are committed to the services of others whilst working within the ethical teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and its philosophy.

Staff are employed under the Diocese of Lismore Care Services Enterprise Agreement.

Please send your application and current resume to jobs@svh.org.au.

Volunteers

“Friends of St Vincents” is a service providing volunteers who assist and support residents with their social needs.

Volunteers bring with them a varying range of skills, professional experience and cultural diversity.

They provide a supportive role to employees, giving generously of their time and skills to enhance and extend the service provision of St Josephs Nursing Home.

By volunteering your services, you are joining a group of people who have earned the gratitude of residents and their families and the respect of the wider community for quality of service and caring attitude.

Volunteers are carefully screened and selected through an interview process.

If you are considering volunteering please contact the Friends of St Vincents office on 02 6627 9340.
