Programs & Activities

Activities

Residents are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities both within and out side the facility.

A monthly activity program is displayed in the foyer and a copy is posted to the resident’s family/”person responsible” each month.

Family, relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in all activities and “special” events within the facility.

We also encourage family and friends to assist residents to maintain their usual community activities. This may mean assisting them to do shopping, attend social visits outside the facility and maintaining church affiliations etc.

We ask that you complete the “Social History” form that has been included in your application package and give to nursing staff. We encourage you to provide as much information as possible on this form. This information will enable us to get to know you and to develop an activity program tailored to your needs.

Barbecue

Weather permitting a barbecue is held monthly.

Families are welcome to join us for lunch.  For catering purposes we do request notice of your attendance 2 days prior to the event. A small cost of $2 per head does apply.

Staying In touch – Community Involvement

We assist residents in maintaining community involvement in various ways.

Our relationship with Trinity Catholic College and the “Friends” Child Care Center provide us with the opportunity to bridge the gap between young and old.

Periodically throughout the year we have organized visits from Trinity Catholic College Students who spend time sitting and talking with residents. Family members and friends are welcome to participate in this program.

Functions / Special Events

We offer families the use of our facility for celebrations of special events involving the resident. i.e. special birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc.

The Gazebo is located in the grounds off West Wing. This an ideal place for family celebrations and picnic lunches.

Pets

Personal pets are welcome to visit the facility, but are not permitted to stay overnight. Owners must be responsible to ensure their pets are supervised when visiting.
